How to Create a True or False Activity with H5P on WordPress

In this tutorial, I walk you through building a simple True or False activity using H5P on WordPress — perfect for quick quizzes, fun facts, or comprehension checks on your website.

The finished result is a clean, interactive question that includes an image and a statement like: “The animal in the picture is a horse – true or false?” Learners can click their answer, check their response, and get immediate feedback. It’s a simple but powerful format that works great for visual learning.

Adding an image to the question helps make the activity more engaging and gives learners context. You can also customize the feedback messages, allow retries, and even enable zoom on the image — a nice touch when using detailed visuals.

These types of questions are great for:

  • Vocabulary checks (e.g., “This is a tomato” with a food image)
  • Science review (e.g., labeling parts of animals or plants)
  • Quick facts in history, geography, or language learning
  • Lightweight self-assessments in blog posts or courses

While this example focuses on a single true or false question, you can always create a Question Set if you want to include multiple questions or mix in other activity types like multiple choice or drag-and-drop.

The best part? Once your activity is ready, H5P gives you a simple shortcode to paste into any WordPress post or page — no coding needed.
