Creating a Multiple Choice Activity in H5P (Made Simple)
In this video, we dive into one of the most widely used H5P content types — the Multiple Choice activity. It’s a quick and effective way to test understanding, reinforce knowledge, or just make your content a little more interactive.
I show you how to build a simple activity using an image of cherries as the base for a visual multiple choice question. The result? A clean, responsive quiz that gives learners instant feedback and allows retries — making it perfect for both formative assessments and self-paced learning.
One great thing about H5P’s Multiple Choice tool is its flexibility. You can:
- Add images to enhance your questions
- Give hints or explanations for each option
- Customize feedback based on performance
- Set pass/fail thresholds
- Enable retry or show solutions after submission
This kind of activity works beautifully for language learning, science diagrams, history quizzes, or just about any subject where quick check-ins help students stay on track. Plus, it’s mobile-friendly and integrates seamlessly into WordPress with a shortcode — so your quizzes look great on any page or post.
And while this example only included one question, I’ll show you how to build full question sets in a future video, where you can stack as many questions as you like.
