If you’re just getting started with H5P and WordPress, the first step is getting the plugin up and running — and good news, it’s super easy.
In this video, I walk you through installing H5P on a fresh WordPress installation. All you need to do is head to the Plugins section in your WordPress dashboard, click Add New, and search for “H5P.” You’ll see a few results, but the one you want is “Interactive Content – H5P” — this is the official plugin that comes from H5P.org.
Once you hit Install and Activate, you’ll find a new menu item in your dashboard called H5P Content. This is where the magic starts. From here, you can view your existing activities (if you have any), or head to Add New to start building interactive content.
Before you can start creating, you’ll need to install at least one content type — like multiple choice, interactive video, flashcards, etc. It’s basically like downloading a template so you can use it again and again. Just pick the one you need and click Get, and it’ll be ready to use right away.
You’ll also find a Libraries section where you can upload H5P files you already have. This is handy if you’re moving from another site or sharing content between platforms. And finally, the My Results section will show learner scores once your activities are live and completed.
